The kid was flogged by his parents.
Clamoured - a loud uproar, as from a crowd of people.
The clamor of the crowd at the gates.
Privy - participating in the knowledge of something private or secret.
Many people were privy to the plot.
Primitive - being the first or earliest of the kind or in existence, esp. in an early age of the world.
The mammoth was primitive.
Forsook - to quit or leave entirely; abandon; desert.
She has forsaken her country for an island in the South Pacific. ( Didn't know this meant forsaken )
Conciliatory - tending to conciliate: a conciliatory manner; conciliatory comments. .
To conciliate an angry competitor.
